This is the absolutely shortest trip we recommend anyone to take in the Khumbu region, home to Mt. Everest and the hardy Sherpa people of Nepal. If you cannot afford the 8 days round trip from Kathmandu demanded by this trip, go on another trip and come back to the Khumbu region another time!
Fly to Lukla from Kathmandu (see previous trip description) and trek through the Sherpa villages of Namche, Thyangboche and Pangboche to Dingboche at the junction of the Khumbu valley and the Imja river valley and then retrace your steps to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.
Namche is an important village and is the center of Sherpa social life. Thyangboche has a large and very important monastery and offers great views of Mt. Everest. Both Pangboche and Dingboche have important monasteries.

Itinerary
Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu .Transfer to your hotel .Depending on the arrival time of your flight sightseeing of Kathmandu.
Day 02 Final preparations for your trek, or if you are sufficiently prepared, then sightseeing of Patan Durbar Square, swayambhunath and Bodhnath.
Day 03 Transfer to airport, fly to Lukla (2860 m.), trek to Phakding.
Day 04 Trek to Namche (3440 m.)
Day 05 Trek to Thyangboche (3867 m.)
Day 06 Trek to Dingboche (4530 m.)
Day 07 Trek to Phunki Thanka (3250 m.)
Day 08 Trek to Chomoa. Overnight at lodge.
Day 10 Fly to Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel. Depending on your arrival time, further sightseeing is possible.
Day 11 Spare day in Kathmandu to allow for domestic flight delays.
Day 12 At an appointed time transfer to airport for your departure from Nepal.
